30 January 2007 im going to blog in five minutes
Here's a quick one. Work's been really busy and I've been really busy trying not to think about work(: I've also got re-hooked on Grey's Anatomy and I'm starting where I left for season 2. Can I say that the show is amazing? It never fails to make me feel so emotional and fulfilled. Also, I can't stop rewatching the episodes(: It's THAT good.... And the music, wow, the music makes the show even more beautiful, if that's remotely possible. I just finished re-watching the post Super Bowl episode, the one with Meredith holding the bomb (Episode 17), and the same song that was in that ep was played on Class 95. Quite creepy. But boy, I love that ep! I've also been catching up on my reading. So far, I've finished reading Raymond Chandler's The Big Sleep (average), Sophie Kinsella's Confession of a Shopaholic (not bad, very funny) and er, Paint Shop Pro 9 For Dummies (but you are NOT supposed to know that). -embarrassed- I really want to change the blog template. And everyday I carry the design in my head, but I just can't find anytime to code it due to work! However, since tomorrow is the end of the month, I'll be getting my pay soon. Hooray(: Ok, I'm out. Cheers(: (Crap, I took 8 minutes) 26 January 2007 just breathe
Sorry for the lack of updates. It's just that everyday I spend 8 hours in front of the computer trying to decipher ugly, illegible handwriting that when I get home I don't even want to look at the computer, much less blog. But I have so much to blog about that I'll pull a Jia Ling. (yeah right) Work has been all right. It's just terribly tedious and extremely boring. I'm starting to get the hang of things. But now, on top of my own work, I have to take over another temp's job because the company reasons that since its not peak season, they didn't need so many staff. The only thing I hate about working is that I have to wake up at 6.30 from Mondays to Fridays and I HATE having to wake up early. I've also caught The Painted Veil last Friday and I must say I really enjoyed the film. Edward Norton is amazing in that show. Actually the performance from the other actors were amazing too. The movie is really tight and well construted, plus the shots are beautiful. However I must confess I know nothing about cholera except that it had something to do with diarrhoea. I'm not sure if it's still open (should be) but you all should watch it. Highly recommended. 15 January 2007 Occupational Hazards
Me: People with ugly, illegible handwriting should DIE IMMEDIATELY! Jia Ling: People who don't finish their food should DIE IMMEDIATELY! Labels: say no evil 11 January 2007 bye 18. hello 19.
I bought a pair of shoes today that was way too high and not comfortable at all. But it was SO pretty. Sigh. I think I'm really asking for it, you know, to suffer from the disease called Eternal Multiple Feet Aches for the rest of my life. Anyhow, thanks for everybody who remembered my birthday! My mom bought me a chocolate cake with little or no cream. Hooray! And pardon the mess behind, I'm too lazy to crop the photo): ![]() Labels: musings Harsh Times
I caught the movie "Harsh Times" today. It starred Christian Bale so I immediately knew it wasn't going to be a "normal" movie with a happy ending or any kind of ending at all. Have you caught any of Christian Bale movies? He has a knack for picking scripts that are terribly out of the ordinary. I try to make it a point to watch his movies because I totally adore Bale and an actor who picks unconventional roles? That's hot. (: I really wanted to like this movie because Bale is in it. But the first half of the movie was draggy especially the scenes in the car. And Bale is playing another psycho who goes berserk due to having been in a war. The movie is terribly confusing at times. Is it trying to deal with the horrible effects of a war on man? The tough street life of L.A.? Or both? Nevertheless, the show is dark, gory and extremely violent. By the end of the movie, I actually find myself liking the show because of the raw, gritty and realistic feel of the entire production. ![]() All in all, I wouldn't recommend this movie. Bale's acting was really intense but the whole plot was too overwhelming. Go watch American Psycho instead(:Labels: watching 10 January 2007 i me you
I'm not working tomorrow! Since I haven't worked for the past 18 birthdays, I shouldn't start on my 19th right?(: Anyhow, I'm really tired of waking up early every morning to go to work. Work has been...tiring. The good news is that work is monotonous (read: slack) and the bad news is that work is monotonous (read: boring and sleep inducing) Since I got the job through a recommendation, I have to at least stay awake for the job. But ah, whatever. I'm not working tomorrow, so no talking about work. Turning 19 is nothing really. 18 is more fun. Or should I say WAS more fun. Anyhow, before my Dad went to sleep, he said, "Tomorrow no more sweet 18 le." :S Since when was 18 sweet? 18 is/was the most awkward and difficult age of my life so far and also the most fun, but hardly "sweet". You know why 18 is fun? Because I get to rub it in everyone's faces that I'm legal. Non stop. For like a month. Hahaha. But then, I have to wait for you all to turn 18 before I can enjoy all the m18 movies/drinking/buying 4D/smoking (I'm kidding about the last two) I mean there's no point if you aren't able to enjoy the time with your friends right?(: Birthdays are really boring affairs nowadays for I simply do not look forward to it as much as I do in the past. In the past, I used to be really excited because I get to open presents, eat out and receive lots of money (in red packets). While I still eat out (and continue receiving money, even though it is getting more and more awkward), there just isn't any thrill during my birthday. Lest you think I'm depressed on my birthday, I'm not! Tomorrow, I'm going to shop and spend the money-which-I-have-not-earned. Cheers! OH! I just realised a trend. Every birthdays for the past 4 or 5 years, I've been getting electronic gadgets. It started with a Creative 64mb(!) mp3 player in 2003 or 2004. Then it was my Frost, my 5gb Zen Micro in 2005, which amazingly, till today, is working perfectly well! I've become so emotionally attached to that little blue thing that I would not trade it for an iPod video or any other mp3 players out there. In 2006, I waited for a few months before finally laying my hands on my SE k750i, which till today is still my "favouritest" phone. Because it fits perfectly into my small hand and it has a great many functions. This year, I didn't exactly get a present. Before we went NZ, my Dad bought the Canon Powershot A710 IS which is technically not mine, but since I'm the only one in the whole house who knows how to use it, it belongs to me. MUAHAHAHA. Er. Sorry, 19 year olds behave strangely. You 18 year olds will never get it. KIDS. Sigh. Lol(: Labels: musings OH JOY!
Say hello to the iPhone! The bad thing is it will only be available in Asia in 2008. But I guess you all can start saving up for it(: The phone looks sweet but it is HUGE, and Mr Jobs failed to mention anything about battery life. Well, the three most important things when I buy a phone are a) battery life b) camera c) screen d) functionality. Make that four. Anyhow, the iPhone sure looks great. Hope the functions are just as good...To read more/see more photos of this beauty: go here. Here's more: what the iPhone doesn't have. By 2008, the mobile phone technology will be pretty advanced, the iPhone will be rendered close to useless. Oh well, it's still a beauty. Labels: musings 04 January 2007 a new beginning
I started this blog because I wanted to document my thoughts and emotions. This year I told myself that I should blog more often and here I am trying. For starters, I'm not really big on new year resolutions but I really SHOULD blog more often. Anyways, this few days I've been editing/tagging/burning my photos from New Zealand and boy do I miss that beautiful country. I really do hope to post some on this blog pretty soon. But I don't really have alot of free time to myself anymore. I've just started my first day of work. It's a temp job around the town area. The work is pretty monotonous but its good for now because it means I probably wont make that many mistakes... yet. And the pay is decent enough but the working hours are pretty standard. Which means, I don't get to spend time alone in the house anymore): I'll post my nz photos soon(: |
